High blood pressure

I am 46 and was recently told my blood pressure is high it is 148 over which the other number I cant remember My gp is concerned about me staying on the contraceptive pill Would the contraceptive implant be safer I am not overweight and I exercise really hard for 1 hour everyday I do suffer from a quick heartbeat that sometimes takes my breath away and can be felt and even seen through my skin although I havent had this in a while Should I be concerned and is this maybe conected to the blood pressure
